A tribute to Sylvia...

Everyone has heard of Sylvia Weinstock...in fact, you probably even know her by sight unlike most of the other behind-the-scenes big names in the wedding industry. Not only is her eyewear large and noticeable...her cakes are the most impressive statement any couple could make on their big day. But it all comes at a price! Sylvia Weinstock cakes range anywhere from $3,000 to as much as $50,000!!! Check out some of her latest works on her website

Floral inspiration

It's no secret that I reference the website of the great Martha Stewart at least once a week.....so let's just skip right to it!

While browsing the web for floral inspiration for one of my newest clients' August 2010 GREEN wedding, I came across a few very original shades of green bouquets on www.marthastewartweddings.com

It just goes to show you that GREEN doesn't have to be just FILLER in your wedding bouquets! It can be the main event!

Check out these amazing shots! Who WOULDN'T want a shot like this on their wedding day?!?! One was shot by Elizabeth, and the other by John simultaneously! Now THAT is creative genius!

They aren't only wedding photographers either! Elizabeth does a fabulous "intimates" series, and John is a brilliant fine art photographer. Check them out!

Phew!!!

WELL…we’ve had a whirlwhind of events in the last month! It’s nearly impossible for me to keep up with them all on the blog, so please, fabulous blog readers, don’t give up hope and keep on reading! In Martha Stewart's "50 tips to saving your budget", she advises that hiring a wedding planner will SAVE you money...which is what I have been preaching for years, but maybe if it comes straight from the glorious Ms. Stewart, it gives me added credibility :)

Yummy Cupcakes from Martha!

I know, I know! I always blog about Martha's blogs. But check out these fabulous cupcakes that you can make on your own with a little bit of practice. I LOVE the one with the little merinque roses. I'm going to try these out sometime this month and I'll let you know how it goes!


The Lavish teams all over the US has a full calendar for this summer. This weekend there is a phenomenal July 4th Wedding Celebration in New York City for Edie and Joe so be sure to check out the pictures from that! I will try to have them posted on Monday morning!

Calling all culturally diverse couples!

I just got a phone call from MTV, they are casting for a new wedding show on MTV Tr3s(the Latino version of MTV) and are seeking a couple who is culturally diverse, one of them being Latino, for a new show called "Quiero mi boda!" which translates to "I want my wedding!". If you or anyone you know fits this description, please give me a call or shoot me an email. There are always perks and downfalls to having your wedding planning and wedding broadcast on national television, but one of the perks is vendors are usually willing to DONATE their services just so they can be featured on the show. So if this applies to you or anyone you know, please get in touch. I have an "in" and you will most likely be cast!
